Cookery Course for older people in Woodbridge returns in the New Year

The popular Seckford Cookery Course will return at the Seckford Almshouses this New Year.

Led by a qualified instructor from Realise Futures, the course will see participants prepare, cook and share a variety of nutritious meals. The meals prepared each week will then be shared for lunch, with the group forming a tight social bond, swapping recipes and tips.

Sarah Kopferschmitt, Head of Care at Seckford Care, said: “Our popular Cookery Course is returning to offer the chance to pick up some new skills, whether you are a novice or seasoned cook. The Seckford Cookery Lunch Group is a welcoming environment to make new friends and enjoy a home-made lunch each week.”

The course will begin on Wednesday 6 February and will run for five weeks until Wednesday 6 March. The full course costs £30 per person, which includes all ingredients, equipment and lunch each week and offers the opportunity for anyone over the age of 65 to learn new cookery skills and gain some advice on healthy living in later life.
