Seckford residents enjoy a spooky, Halloween-themed lunch

Residents of the Seckford Almshouses (very sheltered flats) and Jubilee House (care home) enjoyed a spooky lunch in their dining room at Jubilee House in Woodbridge for Halloween.

Surrounded by eye-catching orange and black Halloween decorations, along with the odd skeleton or two and carved pumpkins filled with seasonal flowers on the tables – which were made by the residents themselves – both staff and residents alike got into the spirit of the day with many donning costumes; there were several witches, Count Dracula, along with masks and a lot of blood-coloured face paint to make them look truly ghoulish!

The food was from a specially created menu:

Ghoulies Beef Goulash

Spoooky Shepherd’s Pie

Hubble and Bubble Toxic Mac Cheese (v)

Witches Pumpkin Risotto (filled mini squash) (v)

Served with

Poltergeist Potatoes, Roasted Frankenstein Roots, Creamed Pumpkin Puree, Casper’s Cauliflower

‘Mummified’ Apple & Blackberry Pie

Squeakmish Brownie Squares, Vanilla Ice Scream

Even the napkins were themed and printed black with skulls on!
